Another quick update from The Banff Centre. It is a gorgeous late summer day. This picture is from a hike I took earlier in the week. We had open studios as part of the Visual Arts Open House which was a great success. This place is still basically amazing!

Rockies

So this is what I am currently waking up to every morning at The Banff Centre. It is just horrible and awful to subject me to a view like this. Seriously though, it is amazing up here. The people are great and the facilities get better everytime I turn around.

I have been tooling around Canada for the past 11 days or so and now have made my way to the Banff Centre for my self-directed residency. This photo is from a bike path in Edmonton. I have been busy making work and will be posting some new stuff soon!

Serra & me

For my art viewing today I finally went down to the OC Preforming Arts Center to see the Richard Serra work "Connector" that has been installed there. Ok, I know that I am a bit behind in doing so.



I thought that it was going to be bigger... and i was amazed to see it welded all the way up. I liked the idea of it balancing. I romanticized my Serra. The more time I spent with it, the more I appreciated the way that it fit into the space, the plaza and the surrounding architecture. Go see it!
